Day 1 - Travel via short sea crossing through Belgium and on to your overnight stop on half board Aachen / Liège area.
Day 2 - Tyrol
Continue through Germany, arriving late afternoon in the Tyrolean village of
Oberperfuss, approximately 14 miles west of Innsbruck. Meet your charming hosts,
the Niederkircher Family, and relax with a welcome drink, followed by dinner
at the hotel.
Day 3 - St Anton
Following a morning at leisure in Oberperfuss,
enjoy a scenic afternoon drive to the famous skiing resort of St. Anton am
Arlberg, also a popular summer destination. Take a stroll through the centre
of this charming village and see some of the finest Alpine scenery of the Tyrol.
Day 4 - Linderhof Palace and Oberammergau
The fairytale castles of King Ludwig
II of Bavaria are legendary and today you will visit the most beautiful of
them all, the Linderhof Palace, known as the “Royal Villa”. Also
visit the town of Oberammergau, not only world famous for the Passion Play
(the next one takes place in 2010) but also for its painted houses and religious
woodcarvings, which you will see all over the town.
Day 5 - Innsbruck and Swarovski
World of Crystal Exhibition
The Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck, twice host city
to the Winter Olympic Games, is only a 20-minute drive from Oberperfuss. Your
guide will show you the highlights of this charming Alpine city, including
the most famous landmark of all, the “Golden Roof”.
Enjoy some free time to shop or sightsee before continuing to the spectacular “Swarovski
World of Crystal Exhibition”.
Day 6 - Horse Drawn Carriage Ride & Carriage
Museum
This morning is at leisure in Oberperfuss. Drive to the nearby village
of Axams, where your alternative form of transport, traditional horse and carriage,
awaits you! Enjoy a scenic carriage ride from Axams to Götzens, home to
one of the most beautiful churches in Tyrol. A visit to the horse stables and
carriage museum in Axams is also included, followed by refreshments in a traditional
Tyrolean mountain hut! Return to Oberperfuss by coach and enjoy the specially
arranged “Farewell Dinner” in the
Gasthof Krone this evening.
Day 7 - After breakfast, it’s time to say farewell to the Tyrol and drive back through Germany, via Lake Constance for some lovely views arriving at your hotel in the Aachen / Liège area this evening.
Day 8 - After breakfast continue your homeward journey via short sea crossing from Calais.
