Suggested Itinerary for Prague, Budapest and Vienna

Day 1 - Travel via short sea crossing to your overnight hotel in Belgium (Liège or Genk).

Day 2 - Erfurt & Eisenach
Depart early this morning towards Erfurt, stopping in Eisenach, birthplace of Johann Sebastian Bach, containing the oldest town gate in Thuringia. Continue the short journey to the hotel in Erfurt.

Day 3 - Depart Erfurt and continue east, arriving in Prague this evening.

Day 4 - Prague
This morning a guide will show you some of the cultural treasures of this city including the Castle District and the 'Old Town', the original heart of the city. Sights include the 'Powder Gate', the 'Old Town Hall' and its famous clock. This afternoon is at leisure to discover the city independently.

Day 5 - Karlstein Castle
Built by the Emperor Charles IV in the 14th century, the Karlstein Castle was used as a country retreat, but also a secure treasury for the imperial crown jewels. Just a short distance from Prague, standing on a limestone crag above the River Berounka, it is one of the most impressive castles in central Europe.

Day 6 - Prague to Budapest
Depart Prague travelling East to Budapest, arriving late afternoon.

Day 7 - Budapest
We have included a guide this morning to show you this impressive city, divided in two by the great River Danube. Buda is home to the impressive Fishermen's Bastion, the 'Citadel' on Gellert Hill and the 'Heroes' Square. Pest has many cobbled streets stuffed with shops and restaurants, as well as monuments, which include the famous Opera House and magnificent parliament building.

Day 8 - Budapest to Vienna
Depart Budapest across the Hungarian plains to the Austrian border and the province of Burgenland, home to a blend of Austrian and Hungarian influences. Stop at Lake Neusiedl for a typical 2-course “Pannonian” lunch. Your horse and carriage awaits after lunch to whisk you through the vineyards to the lakeshore for a boat cruise on Lake Neusiedl. Continue to Vienna, arriving late afternoon.

Day 9 - Vienna
This morning a guide will show you the highlights of Vienna, sister city to Budapest and capital of music and romance. See the most famous sights such as the Opera House, Parliament building and Vienna's Cathedral, the 'Stephansdom'. The day would not be complete without a visit to the Palace of Schönbrunn and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure to discover the city independently.

Day 10 - Depart Vienna this morning and journey to your overnight hotel in southern Germany.

Day 11 - Continue travelling north through Germany, arriving at your overnight hotel in Belgium this evening.

Day 12 - Complete the journey home via short sea crossing from Calais
