The North Yorkshire Moors Railway provides some 18-Miles of preserved steam railway running through the spectacular scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors. Owned by the Historical Railway Trust they have run the line as a living museum since 1974 and as part of the journey we allow time for a stop in Goathland, known to many as Aidensfield from the popular TV series 'Heartbeat'. Also included is a visit to Castle Howard, one of Britain's finest stately homes, located in the beautiful Howardian Hills, fifteen miles north east of the famous city of York and built in 1699. Today, Castle Howard is both the private home of the Howard family and a major tourist attraction, receiving thousands of visitors each year, all of whom come to enjoy its many delights.
