Welcome to the Battle Proms Concerts
Performed by the New English Concert Orchestra and set in the grounds of some of the most enchanting stately homes in England, the Battle Proms offer the perfect entertainment for a summer's evening. You can enjoy a picnic in these beautiful surroundings while being entertained with rousing classical music and breathtaking pyrotechnics.
The unique spectacle comes in the form of Beethoven's 'Battle Symphony' (Wellington's Victory). This is one of the highlights of the evening and is the inspiration for the title of the production. Beethoven scored this piece for 193 cannons! Battle Proms rise to this challenge by following his original score with the full complement of cannons - a magnificent and unforgettable spectacle.
The cavalry and infantry re-enactors of the Napoleonic Association recreate the drama and fervour of a by-gone era. Their skill-at-arms displays are horsemanship at the highest level. The uplifting traditional proms finale offers sumptuous music accompanied by stunning fireworks.
