Celebrating Somerset

Food and drink are the order of the day on this two night short break. It starts with a visit to the The Cheddar Gorge Cheese company, the only cheesemakers left in Cheddar, and from the viewing gallery you can watch the cheesemakers practice their skills with information displayed to help you follow the process with of course the opportunity to sample the cheese for yourself!

Also included is a visit to the last remaining Cider Farm in Somerset, where down in the Vale of Taunton Deane you find one of the true Cidermaking Farms, Sheppy's of Bradford-on-Tone. From the early 1800s, the Sheppy family has been making cider in the West Country and are renowned for their high quality ciders, which have gained between them over 200 awards.
