France
The Dordogne
This department in south west France takes its
name from the river - but it is the wonderful mix of caves, chateaux,
medieval towns, cuisine and countryside that has led to its huge popularity
with our groups. The Dordogne meanders through steep wooded hills where
you discover sand coloured stone villages sometimes balanced on the edge
of rocky gorges, sometimes huddled tightly along the riverside. This
is one of the loveliest areas of France and its dramatic scenery and
relaxing atmosphere will leave a lasting impression on its visitors.
