Christmas Markets and Spring Shopping Breaks
Lille Christmas market has become as famous as
those held in Germany. In addition to the festive
stalls and stands selling waffles and hot roasted
chestnuts, there is a huge ferris wheel and some fair
rides. Arras and Amiens may be less well known for
their Christmas markets but their old towns are just
as endearing, and a morning visit to Lille would be
possible on the last day. Reims has become a very
popular Christmas market destination too. The
chalets are assembled across the centre of town and
street entertainment from jugglers to choral singers
takes place throughout the period.
