Suggested Itinerary for Moselle Valley and Vineyards

Day 1 - Travel via short sea crossing into France, arriving at your hotel this evening.

Day 2 - Cochem and Boat Cruise on Moselle
This morning take a trip to Cochem to visit the famous castle (approximately 5euros pp), admire the medieval buildings, walk along the river, or stop in a café and watch the world go by. Return to Winningen this afternoon for a boat trip on the Moselle followed by a tasting of 5 wines in the village, before going back to your riverside hotel.

Day 3 - Cologne
Enjoy a full day in Cologne, where views from the cathedral’s South Tower extend across the city and beyond. Do some shopping, visit the contemporary style chocolate museum on the river or simply walk through the historic centre admiring the churches and other monuments.

Day 4 - Trier and Bernkastel-Kues
Take a drive to the town of Trier, home to the famous monument the Porta Nigra. Trier also has a beautiful main square where it is easy to find a café or cellar bar in which to enjoy a drink. Trier also has a wealth of shops to browse for souvenirs. Take the pretty road from Trier that follows the Moselle to Bernkastel-Kues, a delightful town with quaint timber-framed houses, shops, restaurants and a riverside promenade.

Day 5 - Depart after breakfast for your return short sea crossing from Calais.
