Day 1 - Travel via short sea crossing to Calais, arriving in Boppard this evening.
Day 2 - Koblenz
Enjoy a morning visit to Koblenz.
Browse amongst the many shops and wander around the medieval old town. Visit
the Deutches Eck Monument at the confluence of the mighty Rhine and Moselle
rivers where you can view the old Ehrenbreitstein Fortress on the opposite
side of the river.
Day 3 - Rhine Gorge Tour
Tour the Rhine Gorge and its many
picturesque villages today. Travel to St Goar and the pretty town of Bacharach
with its fortified walls, half-timbered buildings and sixteen watchtowers.
Cross the river to Rudesheim, a popular tourist resort and wine centre, famous
for its Drosselgasse Street and the cable car that takes you to the huge Niewderwald
Monument, which stands at 250 metres above the town. Continue to St Goarshausen
before climbing to the top of the famous Loreley Rock for some superb views.
Day 4 - Moselle Valley
Enjoy a pleasant drive along the river into the Moselle
Valley, passing romantic castles and endless vineyards, before arriving at
quaint Cochem overlooked by the 100 year old Reichsburg Castle. Shops, stalls
and cafés
are abundant in this little cobbled town.
