Day 1 - Travel via short sea crossing to your overnight stay in the Reims area.
Day 2 - Continue to second overnight stay in Switzerland.
Day 3 - Continue into Italy arriving at the Grand Hotel Boston this evening.
Day 4 - Chianciano Terme
Today is at leisure in resort, allowing time to relax and enjoy your new surroundings.
Visit the old town or stroll along one of the paths, taking in the views across
the Tuscan countryside.
Day 5 - Assisi
Enjoy a full day to the Umbrian hill town
of Assisi. For fantastic scenery, take the road that leads round the southern
shores of Lake Trasimeno. Surrounded by a collage of fields and olive groves,
Assisi also boasts Roman architecture, a castle, twisting alleyways and some
of Italy's finest early Renaissance art. Overlooked by the Mount Subasio, it
is also famous for having witnessed the lives of saints Clare and Francis.
Day 6 - San Gimignano and Siena
Drive to San Gimignano where the profile of
its towers silhouetted against the hillside landscape of the Valdelsa is an
image that has come to symbolise Tuscany. Head to the Piazza del Duomo and
take time to visit the Palazzo del Podestà and the 12th century Romanesque
Collegiate church. Enjoy a traditional Tuscan lunch in one of the many cafes,
bars and restaurants. Return via Siena, wandering the little cobbled alleyways
and don’t forget
to stop in the famous Piazza del Campo, a wonderful shell shaped square.
Day
7 - Orvieto
The beautiful town Orvieto rises on a plateau of volcanic rock, its
sandy walls visible from miles around. The main square is dominated by the
elaborately decorated Duomo, one of the greatest Gothic cathedrals in Italy.
Narrow cobbled streets lead from the square to other smaller squares and hide
many quaint craft and souvenir shops as well as bars and cafés.
Day 8 - Depart Tuscany to your overnight stay in Switzerland.
Day 9 - Continue to your second return overnight stay in the area of Reims.
Day 10 - Continue homeward via short sea crossing from Calais.
