The trendy piazza area of London's former fruit and vegetable market Covent Garden is ablaze with glittering lights throughout Christmas and the New Year. Just like the rest of the year, the buskers and street entertainers bring a smile to the faces of astonished spectators. FREE New Years Eve Firework Spectacular in London

Tube travel is FREE from 11pm on New Years Eve to 4.30am on New Years Day, so leave the coach in the parking bay!

FREE New Year's Day Parade
The jewel in the crown of the capital's festive season; more than 10,000 dancers, acrobats, cheerleaders, musicians and performers assemble in the heart of the city for a "celebration of nations." Young people from the US, Japan and Europe all come together with those from London for three hours of pomp and frivolity. It starts in Parliament Square at noon, as Big Ben strikes the hour and proceeds along Whitehall to Trafalgar Square, Cockspur St, Pall Mall, Lower Regent St, Piccadilly Circus and Piccadilly. Alongside the performers there are a multitude of floats and enormous helium-filled cartoon balloons, which tower above the buildings of Westminster. More than 400,000 people pack the route, so get your space early.
