Day 1 - Travel to hotel, the base for this luxury 4 night holiday.
Day 2 - RHS Harlow Carr & Grassington
A full days excursion, which starts with a visit to RHS Harlow Carr, the newest and most northerly of the four RHS gardens, it's an ideal place to view what can be grown successfully in the region from vegetables to wildflowers and alpines to woodland. From here, continue on for a scenic trip around the Yorkshire Dales with perhaps a stop in Grassington, one of the best loved of the many delightful little towns and villages in the Yorkshire Dales. It is centred on a small cobbled square with a selection of family-owned shops offering quality food, clothing and gifts, alongside small cosy cafes & restaurants.
Day 3 - York
After a leisurely breakfast, head off to York, where we have included a guided river cruise so you can see for yourself where Saxons fought the Vikings, where monks entertained their guests and where witches were ducked in the Middle Ages! The rest of the day is free for you to explore the historic city centre with either a visit to York Minster or why not take advantage of the superb variety of shopping available, from large department stores such as Browns and Fenwicks to the souvenir and gift shops of 'The Shambles'
Day 4 - Harewood & Harrogate
Start today with a visit to Harewood House which is home to the Queens cousin, the Earl of Harewood. It provides a wonderful day out and has an outstanding art collection, splendid State Rooms and fascinating 'Below Stairs' exhibition. Harewood is set in spectacular grounds, which include formal gardens and gentle woodland walks. From here it's just a short drive to the spa town of Harrogate for some last minute shopping, or perhaps a visit to the famous 'Betty's Café Tea Rooms.
Day 5 - Depart for the return journey home.
