Day 1 - Drive via short sea crossing to your overnight hotel in the Reims / Metz area.
Day 2 - Continue to Switzerland, arriving in Charmey early evening.
Day 3 - Charmey
Today is at leisure, so spend time in the hotel’s new spa
centre, perhaps sit in a hot tub while enjoying the mountain views in all directions
or simply take a walk round the delightful village and into the hills.
Day 4 - Geneva
Drive to Geneva, a prosperous and cosmopolitan city situated below the Jura
Mountains on the edge of the vast Lake Léman. The River Rhone
divides the city into two quarters; the old town is located on the Rive Gauche
(left bank) and at its centre is the lively Place du Bourg-de- four, Geneva’s
oldest square. The English Garden is located on the waterfront where the city’s
trademark fountain shoots a spout of water 140 feet into the sky.
Day 5 - Montreux
and Gruyère Scenic Tour
This morning drive to the glamourous
lakeside town of Montreux, home to the world famous music festival. Walk along
the promenade, browsing the many shops for some souvenirs, stopping a while
in a café or restaurant that overlook the glistening lake. Then begins
a tour of the Gruyère scenery, by heading in the direction of Chateau
d’Oex,
a charming little town that nestles by a river and is surrounded by meadows
and mountains. After a short stop, continue into the Sarine valley and the
region’s
capital, Gruyères. Wander the quaint, medieval town and pay a visit
to the cheese farm (approx 5Chf).
Day 6 - Bern
This morning enjoy a half-day excursion
to Bern, the charming capital city of Switzerland. Walk through the quiet cobbled
streets that cross through the old town, crammed with medieval sandstone buildings.
Green hills overlook the pretty sight and the fast flowing River Aare curves
through the centre of the city. There are plenty of shopping opportunities
to buy some swiss chocolate and last minute souvenirs and gifts.
Day 7 - Depart after breakfast, arriving in Reims / Metz area for your half board overnight stop.
Day 8 - Continue home via your short sea crossing from Calais.
