Day 3 - Stirling Castle
Situated at the head of Stirling's Old Town, mounted high on an old volcanic outcrop, no one can confirm when Stirling castle was first built, the Castle that stands today is recorded to have been built between 1370 and 1750 in various different stages by the numerous different occupants of the stronghold. Stirling’s history is probably one of the most famous in the world, especially since the major motion picture ‘Braveheart’, was released, at certain times the castle stages battle scenarios as well as other historical reconstructions.

Day 4 - Luss & Hill House
A full days excursion that starts with a visit to Luss, where many of the cottages that distinguish the village were originally erected to house workers in the cotton mill and slate quarries of the 18th and 19th centuries. Today the homes have been fully restored and Luss has now been designated a "Conservation Village". Familiar to anyone who has seen the TV Soap "Take the High Road" the village is a popular stop and offers some stunning views across the Loch.
Anyone with a passion for design and architecture will love Hill House, Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s finest domestic creation, sitting high above the Clyde commanding fine views across the river estuary. Commissioned in 1902 the house still makes a striking statement today. Wanting to achieve an individual feel Mackintosh designed not only the house and gardens, but much of the furniture and interiors too. Mackintosh’s wife, Margaret Macdonald, contributed fabric designs and a unique panel over the fireplace in the drawing room. The result is a daring design with an air of restrained elegance, which still appeals to modern-day tastes.

Day 5 - Depart for the journey home.
