Roses is just past the French border virtually at the start of the Costa Brava in a quieter and some may say more exclusive area than the resorts further south. An unspoilt coastline dotted with lovely white villages, such as Cadaqués is within easy reach as are the dramatic Pyrennean Mountains and the regional capital, Barcelona
