Day 1 - Travel via short sea crossing to your first half board overnight stay in the Reims / Metz area.
Day 2 - Continue through France arriving early evening at your hotel in the centre of Adelboden.
Day 3 - Adelboden
Today
is at leisure to relax in the resort. There are plenty of paths to follow or
you can simply relax and admire the views from the hotel. Why not take a gondola
ride to other pretty nearby areas and when you return, the leisure facilities
available at the hotel will help you unwind into your holiday.
Day 4 - Interlaken
and Lake Thun
First stop today is the exclusive and popular destination of
Interlaken, where its elegant boulevard invites you to walk along and browse
the shops and cafes. We’ve included a boat trip from Interlaken
to Thun where you can truly appreciate the landscape of this lush region. Lunch
is included on board and the rest of the afternoon is spent exploring the lakeside
town of Thun.
Day 5 - Bern
This morning enjoy a half-day excursion to Bern, the
charming capital city of Switzerland. Walk through the quiet cobbled streets
that cross through the old town, crammed with medieval sandstone buildings.
Green hills overlook the pretty sight and the fast flowing River Aare curves
through the centre of the city. There are plenty of shopping opportunities
to buy souvenirs and gifts.
Day 6 - Grindelwald
This charming alpine village
lies at the foot of the Eiger Mountain and wherever you are in the village,
green mountains with snowy peaks seem to lean over you. There are shops,
restaurants, bars and many easy walks into the countryside. There is also a
cable car station from where you can glide above some of the most beautiful
pastures, finishing high in the mountains where you will find a restaurant
in which to find some refreshment as you look back over the astounding views.
This is real Heidi country! Just outside the village it is also possible to
take the train to the Jungfraujoch (see page 129)
Day 7 - After breakfast leave Adelboden winding your way back through the mountains, arriving this evening in the Reims area for your half board overnight stay.
Day 8 - Continue home via your short sea crossing at Calais.
